You all might be curious about……

1. When did we arrive in Kuala Lumpur?

To answer this question, we took a direct flight from Bali Denpasar to Kuala Lumpur, which took us approximately 3 hours to reach. Luckily, we had a morning flight at 7 o’clock and arrived around 10 o’clock in the morning. So we had the entire day to explore the capital city.

After reaching the Kuala Lumpur Airport, we collected our luggage and the SIM card we booked through Klook. Then, we enquired about some taxis and cabs outside the exit area.

Tip: Beware of negotiating with them for the best prices.

After waiting for some time, we got a cab at a reasonable price. We quickly loaded our luggage at the back and hopped into the car.

2. How was the Journey from Kuala Lumpur Airport to the Stay?

We booked a bus from the airport to KL Sentral. It took around one hour to reach the central part of Kuala Lumpur city, KL Sentral. You will find MRT and LRT options available as well.

After getting down at KL Sentral, we booked a cab using the Grab App and headed towards our stay. All of us were soaking in the city’s vibes and admiring it. Our stay was at one of the most happening places in Kuala Lumpur, Bukit Bintang.

We chose this area considering its proximity and accessibility to the city’s major attractions. You will get multiple stay options in this area ranging from budget to mid-range and lavish ones. This place also offers numerous street food options.

After a quick check-in and freshening up, we headed for lunch at the Little India Briekfield. From the name you would have guessed by now, you can get all the varieties of Indian cuisine in this area. It is in close vicinity to the KL Sentral MRT station. This time, we took the MRT service from Bukit Bintang to KL Sentral. It was a unique and thrilling experience for all of us to ride in a Monorail for the first time.

After having a delicious lunch here, we started with our day trip of the first day. You might wonder………

3. Which was the first place on our list?

First on the list was KL Tower. The famous Kuala Lumpur Tower is one of the tallest freestanding towers in the world at a height of 421 metres.

As we had an online booking, we got our tickets scanned at the entrance and proceeded towards the lift. There were around 22 floors for which an elevator took less than a minute. The tower is mainly used for communication and has an antenna of 421 metres height.

We booked the online tickets from here. Various package options are available, like Tower Walk, Skydeck, etc. We chose a combo package that includes Observation Deck/Sky Deck/Skybox ticket, which costs around 1410 INR per adult.

As we saw from outside, the sight of the tower and the surrounding area with skyscrapers was breathtaking. We took some snaps and then moved to the entrance.

As we went to the deck area, the top view of the city was splendid. Also, one could spot the beautiful Petronas Tower from there.

You could get a unique 360-degree view of the city. We took some memorable snaps on the SkyBox, a glass platform to see through.

After visiting this iconic tower, it was time for our next place. Any guesses? Have you heard of any temples in Kuala Lumpur? Well, there are many.

Come with us for a spiritual experience in Kuala Lumpur.

4. Which temples we visited in Kuala Lumpur?

It was Guan Di Temple. This place was quite close to the Little India area, approximately 2.7 km. This is a religious landmark associated with Chinese history. It is located in the heart of the city.

The architecture is awe-inspiring and something to be admired. People were coming and offering their prayers. The vibe was peaceful and serene. After spending some time here, we moved to the next one on our list…

5. Which temple were we heading to?

The next on our list was Mahariamman Temple. It was approximately 2.6 km from Guan Di Temple. We preferred to walk as it was near. This is one of the oldest significant temples in the city. The architecture resembles the traditional South Indian architectural style. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Mariamman.

The temple interior was beautifully decorated with paintings, carvings and sculptures of Hindu deities. Also, when we entered, Aarti (worship services of Gods or Goddesses in Hinduism) started and we attended that. It felt exactly like being in our home country. There were flower and Prasadam shops outside. While conversing with the shop people, we found many were from India and had moved to Malaysia long back. As we happened to see the watch, it was almost 5 o’clock. We decided to move towards the last temple of the day…

6. Which was our last spot for the day?

Thean Hou Temple was our last destination of the day. It was around 2.3 km from Mahariamman Temple. We booked a Grab ride to reach this temple. This was one of the most awaited spots of the day. Since the time we saw the pictures of this beautiful temple on social media, we have decided to pay a visit here.

This is one of the popular places which attracts a majority of travellers in Kuala Lumpur. This is a six-tiered architecture and the temple is dedicated to the Chinese Sea Goddess Mazu.

The Temple looks amazing at night when it’s lit with thousands of lanterns. You can get the surrounding view of the city from here. Allocate a reasonable amount of time for this place, at least 1-2 hours.

After strolling around the temple complex for some time, it was around 7:40 PM. We were pretty much tired and hungry. So, we decided to have dinner.

7. How was the place for our Dinner?

We booked a Grab ride to Petaling Street market around 5-6 kms. As we reached and stepped out of the car, we realized this was a huge market area with various restaurant stalls for food options.

We had a great meal. There was a supermarket nearby; we bought some snacks and water bottles. Then we booked a cab and returned to our stay.

As we reached our stay, all of us were tired. We went off to sleep as, again, we had a long day planned for the next morning.

Wait, we are not going anywhere without this last question……
