Have you ever visited any film city in the past? Do you know about the largest film city in the world? You think about these as we teleport you all on a cinematic journey.

Guess what! We are going to the famous Ramoji Film City.

In case you don’t know who we are…….

We are Travel Freaks…….

Let’s begin this blog with a general question……

1. What is so special about Ramoji?

Ramoji Film City is one of the world’s most renowned film studio complexes. It expands into a vast area of 1666 acres. It is situated in the capital city of Hyderabad. A must-visit for travel freaks like us who are visiting Hyderabad.

Given its hugeness, you should keep an entire day only for Ramoji. It was set up in 1996 and holds the Guinness World Record for the World’s Largest Film studio complex.

As it is located on the city’s outskirts, we would advise our readers to book a car for the entire day with hotel pickup/drop. It will take you quite some time to reach the film city. You can book the tickets either online or from their ticket counter.

There are multiple activities available. You can choose and book as per your interest. Also, from time to time, they provide various offers. You can check their website for more details.

Returning to our story, we were already in Hyderabad and explored a few local places within the city. Click here to read about our experience, which will also plan your itinerary. We suppose you are eager to know……

2. How was our first impression of the Ramoji Film City?

As we reached at around 9 o’clock in the morning, we were thrilled to see such a huge entrance. Just as we got in, there were several zones with different kinds of activities, rides, live shows, and thematic attractions.

The ticket prices depend on your interest and time to explore. The highest price of the ticket can be 3700 INR per person. If you are a student, you can get 945 INR per person. There are various categories of tickets, such as the college Student package, Ramoji Studio Tour, Ramoji Star Experience, etc. to name a few.

One can easily get confused about where to begin. You can follow the signboards hanging everywhere; also, security personnel could help you out. As the film city area is massive and various movie sets and shooting areas are built, shuttle bus services have been provided from one stop to another.

You can easily get into one of the available shuttles, get down at the desired spot, explore the area then take another bus to explore the next spot. Do not worry if you miss any shuttle bus, as another one will arrive at the same place soon.

If you are taking one day ticket, you will have to explore the spots at a fast pace, or else you won’t be able to explore the entire park area. After walking for a few hours, we all were hungry.

Hearing the word “hungry”, you might want to know……

3. What are the food options available?

Do remember that you cannot carry outside foods. Yeah, there are food options available within the film city.

After exploring a few spots, we went to a cafeteria for snacks. There are multiple options available to choose from. The menu had sandwiches, soft drinks, noodles, etc.

Given that we were in a film city, you might be thinking…….

4. Did we happen to see any movie shooting spots?

Yes, of course, we visited the shooting place of one of the most famous Indian movies, “Baahubali I and II”. Do not miss that. We relived the movie once again. It was something we would love to remember. If you watch the movie, you might be able to recall the scenes on seeing the spots.

On further exploring, we entered an auditorium where a crew briefly explained the movie-making process. You must have heard sounds ranging from walking, running, fighting, horse running, and boxing punch, to name a few. Have you ever thought about how these sounds are produced in reel life? We got to see them in real life. The technique they adopted to create such sound effects was explained in detail. It was amazing to see them recreate the same.

We loved the part when the crew requested a few volunteers from the audience while explaining the art of shooting we generally see on screen. It was fun to watch. You can also volunteer yourself and give it a shot😊. It was something we were experiencing for the first time.

This is not just a film city; it is more than that. Many who are not aware of this film city might want to know……..

5. What other things did we see apart from the shooting spots?

There are so many activities that you can indulge yourself in. In one of the areas, it was mentioned as a fairyland ride. As we entered in, it was all dark. We took our seats in the replica of a wooden vehicle. When the ride began, it felt as if we got teleported to some dream world. It was a marvellous experience.

After exploring a few other rides, we reached the point from where buses were departing for the exit area.

But hold on; soon, we learned that a live show was about to start in some time. Again we went to that area to watch the performance. It was a wonderful show. The crowd was cheering the performers, and people were dancing to the beats of Bollywood songs. It was almost an hour’s show.

After the performance ended, while we were on our way walking to the bus departure area, we observed a colourful parade across the road. It was a beautiful vibrant parade showcasing culture, art, and dance performances of different regions of the country and the world. We were amused to see it. By the time we captured these in our lens, it was already 8:30 PM. As this place was on the outskirts, we decided to get back. We called our driver. He came soon, and we started our return journey, almost an hour from Ramoji.

After an eventful day, we were tired like anything and our legs were in excruciating pain. But the memories from the day overpowered this. 😊 After reaching the stay, we quickly freshened up and went to bed.
