Plan a Perfect Sentosa Island Tour in 2024 With These Fascinating Facts

Have you ever been to any world-famous wax museum?

Have you ever visited any Island with various tourist attractions, attractive sea beaches, and lots of activities to indulge in?

You think about these questions as we take you on a fascinating trip to one of the most famous Sentosa Island. This Island is a perfect destination for travel enthusiasts and fun lovers like us. It was one of the most awaited destinations of our Singapore trip.

Well, let’s begin another thrilling blog of this series.

In case you don’t know who we are………..

We call ourselves Travel Freaks……..

Before we start anything on the second day, let’s begin with……..

1. When did we arrive in Singapore?

We arrived in Singapore two days back in the evening. It was a fascinating trip to a few local attractions the previous day in Singapore. Do read it and plan a perfect itinerary for yourself, too.

Another exciting journey awaited us as we woke up by 6:30 AM in the morning and were ready within an hour. Our breakfast included a soupy noodle that was not as delicious as we had expected it to be. Nevertheless, we finished breakfast and headed towards the Lavender Metro Station, which was about 10 minutes from our hostel.

Before we headed for the Sentosa Island, we decided to explore the Fort Canning Park.

Many might find the park to be the same as other parks, but………

2. How different was the Fort Canning Park from other Parks?

The park has a rich history that dates back to the World War II period. This park served as a bunker during the war. Despite all the scars from the war, this place has evolved over the years as one of the famous tourist attractions.

We got off at Dhobi Ghat Station. The park was about 700 meters from the station. You can also opt to get off at the Fort Canning Metro Station. As we entered the park, we saw stairs that led to an elevated level. We witnessed a fantastic view of the city.

We strolled around the park and halted at a few spots to immerse ourselves in the beauty of the park.

There was a reason why we opted to visit Fort Canning Park: we planned to visit one of the most Instagrammable spots in Singapore, Tree Tunnel. It took us around half an hour to reach the Tree Tunnel Area.

We thought to click a few memorable pics in the tunnel. Unfortunately, as we walked down the stairs to click pictures, we saw a pretty long queue just for taking pictures.

We needed to wait for at least an hour for our turn. So, we skipped and headed for the exit area to get to the nearest Fort Canning Metro Station.

As we reached the metro station, our excitement crossed the threshold level. Finally, we were heading to the Sentosa Island.

You must be eager to know…….

3. How did we reach the Sentosa Island?

We got off at the Harbour Front Metro Station. The station had various food outlets as well as branded showrooms. As we proceeded towards the station to catch the monorail, we saw gondola cable car services available. It operates between the mainland of Singapore and the Sentosa Island.

Thankfully, the monorail services were free of charge when we visited Sentosa Island. You can also take the information booklet from one of the tourist information counters at the Harbour Front Station.

As we got off the monorail at Sentosa Island, many free shuttle bus services were available throughout the island. The bus had been marked as A, B, C and D, with a specific route. One must ascertain the spots they would like to get down at before entering any of the aforementioned buses.

We were heading to the famous Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. It was hardly a 15-minute journey for us.

Feeling excited, huh….. Let’s answer what you might be thinking…….

4. How was the experience at the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum?

We booked the online ticket for the Wax Museum. It cost us around 3400 INR per person. One of the staff scanned the bar code and let us in. Here we go, and an exciting experience started.

As we entered, there was the Bollywood section, which later on transitioned into Hollywood, World Leaders and Sports Personalities.

The statues were so accurate and intricately sculptured that they resembled the original personalities. Something amazing and unique experience for us.

At a few locations, the statues were interactive, which thrilled us a lot. Most of the places were designed to resemble the actual location of the shoot. Be it the award show, a singing concert or an audition room. Everything was well-maintained and well-decorated.

There was a 4-D theatre showing a Marvel Movie clip of 15 minutes. It felt so real that not only was the movie three-dimensional, but it also had an effect that was happening on screen. In one such instance, one of the characters punched on another character’s back. The punch was also felt on our back. As the show ended, we wished to experience such a 4-dimensional movie.

As we continued to explore the museum, we came across a canal that took us for a boat ride and teleported us to the Jurrasic World. It was another fabulous experience.

Finally, after an hour, we reached the exit of the wax museum. A staff handed us a packet of chips included in our voucher. A memorable visit came to an end. The time was about 12 o clock in the noon; we had to go for lunch.

We headed towards the bus station for our return journey and reflected on the just-finished wax museum visit and its uniqueness.

When we got off the monorail at the Harbour Front Metro station, we bought a few souvenirs before catching a metro for our lunch location, the famous Little India.

Before we share our experience of Little India, let us throw some light on the various possible activities at Sentosa Island apart from the Madame Tussauds Museum.

  1. Universal Studios
  2. Dolphin Island
  3. Beach Courts
  4. Water Parks
  5. Fort Siloso Skywalk

These are only suggestive; there are several other activities that you can indulge in. All depends on your time, budget and interest.

Back to our story, we were starving for lunch and got off at the Little India MRT Station.

Are you surprised to read the word Little India in a foreign country?

Let us answer a common notion……

5. What was there at the Little India?

In our case, we went to experience some authentic Indian Food on foreign soil. It was indeed a delicious meal. We ordered a typical Indian Thali consisting of rice, lentils, vegetable curry with chicken and prawn curry. Everyone was delighted after having such homely food. Also, we got our dinner packed from the same place.

After our lunch, we decided to stroll around the Little India area. There were many Indian Restaurants, shops catering to Indian brands, and flowers for worshipping. The place truly symbolises the Indian culture well.

We headed back to our stay in some time. On the way back, we explored the city and walked to reach our stay. We came across many exciting streets, food shops and souvenir shops.

It was finally time for us to bid adieu to our stay and head for the airport.

Wait! Our journey was not over; we planned a few activities at the Jewel Changi Airport.

Now, here comes the last question…..

6. What activities did we do at the Jewel Changi Airport?

When we reached the Expo MRT station, we returned our Tourist card pass. We got a refund of around 10 SGD for each card. Slowly, we headed to the Airport complex.

On the one hand, we were a bit sad as our Singapore trip was about to end and on the other hand, we were excited about the Airport activities.

For the activities, we had to go to the top floor of the airport complex. We booked the Mirror Maze activity, including Canopy Park, Discovery Slides, Foggy Bowls, Petal Garden and Topiary Walk.

It was a fantastic experience, especially at the Mirror Maze, where we were trapped between mirrors. You will be handed a sponge stick to find your path within the mirrors.

The Canopy Park is a great place to spend time amongst nature, where you can go for the thrilling Discovery Slides or relax in the foggy mist of the Foggy Bowls.

We had a great time enjoying the beauty of the airport—lastly, the most famous Vortex Rain. It was a delightful sight for us. A fantastic short trip to Singapore came to an end with our packed dinner.

Hope you got a glimpse of our Singapore trip and we can help you plan yours.

Wait! We are not ending this blog without this last question.
